The Mist [draft]

The Last House On The Left

The film begins with a girl that goes to one house in the mountain with her parents. She hasn’t been there since she was a child because the lake next to the house was where her brother died. The second day in the morning the girl went to her friend´s shop. In the shop they met a boy who told them to go with him to his hotel to smoke a cigarette.
Suddenly three thieves entered the bedroom (they were the boy’s friends) and abducted the two girls and took them to their car to drive to the forest.
When they were in the car they had an accident and thanks to this accident one girl could escape through the forest but one of the thieves shot her.
After that, the thieves found a house but there were 2 people, these people were the girl’s parents that they had killed one hour ago. One of the thieves was hurt in the arm and the father of the girl helped him because he was a doctor, and the father didn´t know who the injured man was.
Meanwhile the other thieves saw a photo in the house. In the photo was the girl that they had just killed and he decided to kill the parents too, but the girl wasn´t dead and so she could go to the house and tell her parent who these people were and the parents killed all of them.
Why is this film so scary?
For us, it´s scary because that situation could have happened in our lives because it was based on a real event..
The Orphan

This movie is about a family that adopts a young orphan who is called Esther. Esther who aparently looks kind and friendly. The family is formed by Mother and Father and a son and a daughter who is deaf and dumb. At the beginning Esther makes best friend with the girl, they learn to talk with the hands. As time passes through, the mother realises that people around her are getting accidentally hurt and she has a suspicion that it’s Esther’s fault! Finally she starts to investigate on Esther and calls the orphanage and discovers she isn’t the cute little girl she appears to be, she is a woman! The orphan makes a ruin of the family making the kids kill themselves and try to have sex with the father who doesn’t want to, so she makes the mother think that he is abusing her!
Will Esther be capable of making more disasters with the family or will the mother be able to make things change?
The creepiest scene is when the orphan breaks her own arm to make the mother think that it’s her step-father who attacked her.
There is another creepiest scene when she takes off her costume and tries to kill her step-father. In that scene you can observe her real face that is like a little devil and is very spooky !
Let Me In

See if we can agree on a rough ranking for them.
At home get information on the Internet, and use a collaborative process writing approach to produce a plot summary plus what makes them really, really scary
Go through various drafts, getting the other learners to commit on each others' work, and saving as Word documents
Post the final version on a blog
Students will read the finished products, and will use the "comments" feature to "vote" which they now think are most scary.
